Holdbart is an innovative start-up development company founded by Laust Christian Holm Poulsen and Lærke Hein. With many years of experience at the intersection of culture and commerce, the two founders bring a fresh perspective to urban development.

About

Holdbart works on developing areas and buildings with the aim of creating solutions for the future that respect the past, listen to the present, to ensure a good environment for both people and the planet. This encompasses social, cultural, and environmental aspects.

Holdbart builds on over 20 years of experience in developing and managing temporary projects. Transforming buildings and areas, forming commercial and cultural partnerships, and developing and anchoring culture and cultural values such as community, health, art, belonging and a safe environment.

We have extensive experience in developing areas such as the temporary transformation of Carlsbergbyen and the early stages of the Meatpacking District. Both are former industrial areas that have been transformed over the years into new residential, commercial, and creative neighborhoods. These projects have provided us with valuable experience and insight into how to best handle comprehensive transformations.

Our work in and around Tunnelfabrikken is to communicate the past and ensure the cultural values and history are integrated into the future district. Tunnelfabrikken is to be a destination that builds on the values that are and always have been in Nordhavn.

We work with many different cultural environments and continuously ensure they are involved in the development process, striving to make sure they remain a part of Tunnelfabrikken in the future. Our approach of making space for the temporary within the permanent adds a dynamic and flexible dimension to urban development. This fosters creativity and innovation while creating room for new initiatives and temporary projects that can test different concepts and functions in the urban environment.

Holdbart has a data-driven approach to learning from the present and the past to shape the future. We aim to establish a data foundation that demonstrates the value of prioritizing culture and the environment, so that capital and investments can understand and integrate these positive factors into their decision-making processes.

At Holdbart, we have a flexible approach to ensure that areas and buildings do not stagnate but remain relevant in an unknown future.

We see the whole picture in cities and areas, where environment, art, culture, and social balance play a central role in ensuring a good investment in the built environment
